Find Out What Type of Blogger You Are: vol. I

Your hands are itching to start your personal blog and it's already not the first you came across this idea? This series of posts will guide through the debris of blogging

Your hands are itching to start your personal blog and it's already not the first you came across this idea? This is great because the reading of this article won't be such a waste of time for you, and I split this read into three digestible parts.

Most likely you're already familiar with an individual type of blog (and maybe you've already abandoned a few) where you can write whatever interests you: food, sex, rock'n'roll. But apart from this, there are types of blogging you might find more viable for yourself, which I put in the title of the initial draft but it turned to be too long, so here they're: individual, corporate and partnered blog. So, what's the difference?

Individual blogging is your personal blog. It can be about your brand or your dog and it's probably the very first type of blog you begin with. This type of blog can be about literally anything you want to, so don't hesitate to bullshit (if you have not reputation yet). A personal blog means that you're the sole author responsible for publishing and creating content, including visuals and texts.  Though, your personal blog can be easily converted into a corporate or partnered blog, about which you'll learn in the next posts.

Now, what's so good about having your personal blog:

1. Control freak. You have control over your content - write whatever and when you want to

2. Loyalty. You keep all your readership by yourself

3. Banners. It's you who can authorize advertising on your page

4. Income. All profit you get from your blogging is going only to you

Now, let's see why an individual blog is not such a funny business:

1. Slow traffic growth. When you're running your personal blog alone it's really hard to get traffic

2. You're limited in your resources. Most of your time might be taken for writing, but just a little remains for taking photos for your visual content

3. You're single. When you're single it's challenging to supervise your blog, especially with higher engagement. You need to hire somebody to respond to all comments

4. Your first income is in two years. Usually, it takes long before you start making actual money on your blog

These are the main flaws and advantages of individual blogging style, there are definitely more. In the next article you'll learn why a corporate blog is preferred over others, and what are the pitfalls of working for a company's blog.
